My competency in law, policy, and governance is at a foundational level. My knowledge from coursework in American Higher Education has enabled me to know different cases and how different institutional types will vary in their governance. My experience with Medaille College’s TRiO SSS program and my internship at the University at Buffalo’s TRiO McNair program has given me a better understanding of the Higher Education Act and how funding is impacted. Future development in this area has been achieved through researching the federal regulations of opportunity programs. As an office assistant I am responsible for the intake process of all new applicants and maintain current and past student files for reporting purposes. In order to successfully accomplish this task I am knowledgeable on the federal regulations for TRiO SSS to ensure our applications and reporting processes are on par with regulations.
